Blanching Tomatoes

Here is a quick way of blanching tomatoes to remove the skin and the get the smooth pulp easily. No more using the packaged puree. You can use the blanched tomatoes for Tomato Saar and other upcoming recipes like Sambar, Paneer Makhani and more.
Method:
1.  Cut the top slice of each tomato. Also, cut a cross on the top as shown in the picture.
2.  Fill a pot with water, enough to submerge tomatoes. Bring it to a boil.
3.  Once it comes to a rolling boil, add tomatoes and keep it in for 2 minutes.
4.  Remove the tomatoes and keep it to cool. The skin will start coming off easily at this stage.


5.  Remove skin and chop or blend the tomatoes in mixer.
