Udadache Vade

Ingredients:
½ cup urad daal
1.5 cups rice flour + more
2 green chilies
5-6 curry leaves
2 tbsp fresh coriander
1 tsp red chili powder (or to taste)
½ tsp turmeric powder
4 tsp oil + for frying
Salt to taste

Method:
1.  Wash and soak urad daal for 2 hours
2.  Rinse and blend to a smooth paste with green chilies, curry leaves and coriander with little water.
3.  Take rice flour in a big bowl and add red chili powder, turmeric powder and salt to taste. Mix well.
4.  Heat 1 tbsp of oil and pour over the rice flour. Mix again.
5.  Now add the ground daal adding flour/water to make a stiff dough.
6.  Let the dough rest for 15 minutes.
7.  Heat oil in a kadai for deep frying.
8.  Roll the dough into small balls (like puri) and roll using rolling pin.
9.  Fry in oil on both side till golden brown. Just like you would fry puri.
10. Serve hot as a snack or to scoop up any non-veg curry.
