Ingredients:
1 cup sevai (I use MTR)
2 tsp ghee
2 + 1 /2 cup of warm milk
1 tbsp each of cashews and almonds, chopped
1 tbsp raisins
1/2 tsp of Cardamom powder
3/4 cup of sugar
Method:
- Heat ghee in a thick bottom pan. Add cashew and fry till light brown.
- Now add sevai and roast on low flame till it changes color slightly.
- Add 1.5 cups of water and mix well. Let the sevai cook on a medium flame. Keep stirring to make sure it does not stick to bottom.
- Once most of the water is absorbed, add first cup of warm milk. Mix and let it cook on medium flame. Keep stirring.
- Now add another cup of milk and dry fruits to kheer and repeat step 3.\
- Add last ½ cup of milk and sugar and mix well.
- Cook stirring just until the sugar is dissolved.
- Switch off the flame and add cardamom powder.
- Kheer is ready.
