Ingredients
1 cup Basmati rice
1 tbsp ghee/clarified butter
½ tsp Jeera/Cumin
2-3 cloves
2-3 cinnamon pieces
Salt to taste
Method:
1. Wash basmati rice
with water thoroughly about 2-3 times.
2. Drain the water
completely and let it rest covered for at least 30 mins.
3. Bring 3 cups of
water to boil.
4. In a non-stick
kadhai, heat ghee. Add cloves, cinnamon and jeera. Let the jeera fry for 30
seconds.
5. Now add the rice
and mix well till it is coated with ghee and is fragrant.
6. Add the boiled
water and salt and let it cook on medium flame for 4-5 mins till most of the
water is absorbed.
7. Now lower the
heat and cook it covered for another 4-5 min.
8. Jeera rice is
ready.
