1 kg chicken pieces
2 medium onions finely chopped
2 tbsp ghee
2 cloves, small piece of cinnamon
½ cup fresh coriander cleaned and washed
½ inch ginger chopped
1 green chili (or to taste)
2 tbsp of fresh coconut
2 tbsp of kolhapuri kanda lasoon masala
3 large tomatoes blanched and crushed (pulse in mixer)
Salt to taste
Method:
1. Blend together fresh coriander, ginger, green chili, fresh coconut and kolhapuri kanda lasoon masala to a fine paste.
2. Heat ghee in a thick bottom vessel. Add cloves and cinnamon.
3. Add onion and sauté to lightly brown.
4. Now add the masala paste and sauté for 4-5 mins.
5. Add chicken and mix so the masala coats the chicken well. Saute for 2-3 mins
6. Add tomatoes and mix well. Let the mixture come to a boil. Add salt to taste.
7. Put it on simmer and let it cook covered for 20 mins or till the chicken is cooked.
8. Serve hot with a side of slices of onion and lemon.
